Convert an existing trucks 12v trailer EBS system to 24v or install a standalone 24v trailer EBS system into a 12v truck.

As of the 1st July 2019 all trailers under the ADR Category Codes TB (light trailer), TC (medium trailer) and TD (heavy trailer) require ABS/EBS to be fitted to the trailer axles. This is not normally an issue as these module can operate off 12v or 24v battery systems. The problem comes in when there are more than 2 axle groups. When three or more axle groups are connected on the trailer combination the modules can now only operate on 24v to ensure safe operation. This leaves a large number of trucks currently in use around Australia with 12v battery systems that are not capable of operating the ABS/EBS systems. This is where the 24v EBS Converter Kits comes in.

12v EBS Plug Input Kit included items:

  • "12v EBS Plug Input Harness" to supply the input signals from an existing 12v EBS socket already installed on a truck.
  • "12v EBS Power Input Harness" to supply the battery positive and negative to the converter module.
  • "24v EBS Socket Harness" to supply the converted 24v output from the converter to the 24v EBS socket.
  • "EBS 24v Converter Module" to convert the 12v battery system to the 24v supply for the EBS socket.
  • Bracket for mounting EBS socket.

12v EBS Universal Kit included items:

  • "12v EBS Universal Input Harness" to supply the input signal for a truck without a current EBS system installed.

Both kits come with all required wiring and circuit protection to ensure your truck's EBS system operates correctly. Detailed instructions are provided to complete the install, but basic auto electrical skills are advised to ensure correct operation.
